Hello! Welcome to Mahesh Poudyal’s webpage/blog. This blog was born mainly because I wanted to manage my own webpage(s) at my own webspace. I started blogging randomly jotting on the world wide web in October 2002 using Blogger. My Blogger Profile (which is no longer public!) lists the following about me:

I come from Nepal, where I spent the first 19 years of my life before moving to UK to study for an undergraduate degree. It was in 1999 that I arrived in the UK and in 2002, I moved to Canada to continue my studies. I lived in Canada for three years, gaining a masters degree and since September 2005, I am back in the UK (same city, same university :-)) to pursue a PhD degree. As the title suggests, I use these pages to write about things that interest me or just jot down things that come to my mind when I am in a mood to write (which is very rarely!). Almost all writings in these pages are “unplanned”, however, I have come to realise that my informal writings are also very much influenced by my academic background. So I still find it hard to just sit down and write whatever I think about/make of things happening around me without spending quite a while researching on the issues I want to write, and finding out others’ views on those issues as well! Anyhow, I try to write and express my views on stuffs of interest (to me that is) whenever I find myself in a mood to do so.
